1- By working with a partner on annotaions, I got to see that annoations simplified the essay and helped us see the main point more clear.
2- By writing annotaions for "Is Goggle Making Us Stupid?" my partner and I got to practice annotaions and understand the article better.
3- By annotating what I learned about the reading is that the author's main focus was to let us know that fast access to information doesn't necessarily make us smart.
4- Annotating will help us be better writes by aiding us to process and comprehend information in articles better.

In the essay "Hype," Kalle Lasn takes note of the way commercial advertisements have invaded the daily lives of all Americans. From the moment a person wakes up to until they are asleep, adds come at them from every direction. Whether they are on the bus, plane, or on their feet, they are exposed to adds of one form or another. Commercials are present everywhere, from huge billboards to inside newspapers and magazines. Commercials interrupt t.v. / radio programs every five to seven minutes. It amazes me how we hardly notice the constant interruptions that are in our faces, getting into our heads at all hours of the day non-stop.
Lasn writes "There is nowhere to run. No one is exempt and no one will be spared." It's a frightning statement that cannot be dismissed. Various products are made and along with the products, cutomized adds are created to target each applicable target market. something simple as cereal is marketed in several ways, targeting specific genders and age groups. Cartoon trademarks are attached to make the product appealing to children. Phrases such as, "Less than 100 calories" is added to attract health concious women. "Lowers cholestrol" is added to the box to pull in the health concious adults. The phrases and the chahracters follow these people targetting them everywhere they go. The 'silly rabbit' will pop up on the tv screen. The 'heart healthy' add will come on as a person drives home. An hour glass shaped billboard can be seen form the gym window.
I can understand why we've turned a blind eye to the amount of adds we come across each day. If we paid attention we wouldn't be able to finish our tasks. If I counted the amount of adds that poped up on my computer screen as I checked my e-mail, I wouldn't ever get to read my mail.
